James Frankson was convicted after a jury trial of robbery in the first degree, AS 11.41.500, and theft in the second degree, AS 11.46.130(a)(1). Frankson was sentenced to concurrent terms of fifteen years on the robbery charge and five years on the theft charge. Frankson appeals his conviction and sentence to this court. We reverse Franksons conviction, finding that the trial Judge erred because of the manner in which he allowed Franksons prior robbery conviction to be used for impeachment purposes.
